Little Auk - Alkekonge - Alle alle
Alkekung  - Søkonge - Pikkuruokki - Mergule nain

Little Auk are very regular during the winter months, although numbers vary considerably. The species can be seen in relatively small numbers until the end of February after which is is irregular. This species can, however, be observed moving north well into May on occasion. Generally Little Auk do not show again until late October and peak numbers invariably occur in November. There is some evidence to suggest that larger numbers can move up the fjords immediately inland from Sotra than pass on the open coast.

Occurrence pattern and numbers are similar to those at Utsira.

The blue line shows number of visits, the orange one the number of visits when Little Auk have been recorded and the green one (numbers on right hand axis) shows the average numbers I have recorded in any three day period.
