Redpolls can be a tricky group to identify and the majority of those I see just go down as "Redpoll". Although redpolls are often not too scared of people they are amazingly active so obtaining good views, or even worse, good photos can be quite difficult. All of the pictures on this page were taken in very poor light at ISO  400 or 800

Although Lesser Redpoll is a common breeder in Øygarden they are seen very rarely here during the winter months - this is when the Mealy's tend to turn up.
