Black Sea, 06 March 2010

Yellowhammer are migrants over parts of their range. In Øygarden, Norway this species is an uncommon migrant and occasional winter visitor. This species is one of the first to move in the spring and one of the last in the autumn - Øygarden records are concentrated in March and November.

The bird pictured on these pages landed on a survey vessel in the Black Sea, approximately halfway between Turkey and Russia.
