Willow Tit

Willow Tits are not often seen in Øygarden and are very much an irruptive migrant. Usually only small numbers are seen but in October 2007 flocks of up to 20 individuals were seen at a number of locations in the area; some of these birds remained in Øygarden throughout the winter. The species is a common resident in most of the mainland nearby.

Although a common resident on the lower slopes of Gullfjell they are not often seen higher up past the limit of the juniper scrub - except when migrating with other species.

Willow Tit are a very common species over much of Norway and thus don't receive much attention from me - despite the fact that they are often ridiculously easy to photograph.
They are normally very curious and come to investigate any interesting sounds....I had stopped to try and listen to something interesting myself when this bird posed so well it would have been rude not to photograph it.
