Twite
are a widespread breeder in small numbers over much of
Øygarden; they are also common
migrants in both spring and autumn. Probably the best place for both
numbers and views of this species is the island of Hernar. The
population of coastal Twite along the south western coast of Norway is
in sharp decline - Hernar (and the other islands in the north of
Øygarden) still have healthy populations - perhaps the clue
to this species alarming disappearance can be found here.....

Twite are a
regular feature during the winter months at Fornebu near Oslo
- at least for now. The obscene levels of "development" here will
surely soon put and end to this.
