Ruff
are a common autumn visitor in Øygarden. They are much rarer
during the spring but only a few decades ago were a regular breeding
bird at Tjeldstø. In common with other coastal breeding
populations in Norway this breeding population has disappeared.

2017 with large flocks feeding in fields and many more seen on direct
migration past places like Skogsøy
