January
2012 saw a record influx of this species in Øygarden and
Hordaland (as well as Shetland and other places). A species with the
"wrong" English name this bird does not breed in Iceland
although it is a common enough visitor there. The Norwegian name of
"Greenland Gull" suits it much better.
