Regarded as a pest by many this introduced species is thankfully a rarity in Øygarden - although a couple of individuals heading north past Skogsøy during the spring of 2006 seemed very small - possibly "the real thing". Another very small bird turned up on the sea at the most unlikely of locations during 2009. Most records would seem to refer to either escapes (such as the April 2008 record) or the Herdla flock wandering.
