Blackcap

The two pictures above were all taken through my non-too clean sitting room window. This individual was very aggressive towards other species, chasing everything else away from what he considered to be "his" food.

Blackcap appear to be one of the obvious effects of global warming - wintering on the west coast of Norway seems to be more and more regular.

In Øygarden this species is a numerous late autumn migrant - often to be found wherever there are elderberries - Sæle is particularly good for this species. Late birds are regular well into December - I usually see these either in my garden or at Hjelme.

The graph below gives an idea of the occurrence pattern of Blackcap in Øygarden.
