For more about birding in Finnmark, Norway see this link.

King Eider are a regular species in Iceland. Females in the summer are harder to find so I was pleased to see this bird at Arnarstapi. I had stupidly left my camera in the car and by time I was reunited with it this female proceeded to preen and splash continuously. I gave up trying to get a normal shot of this bird after about half an hour of waiting.

This species is a scarce visitor in the Bergen area but one or two turn up most winters. Still to be seen in Øygarden.....should be in the top 10 of the next new species for the area:)
