Great
Grey Owl is one the "must have" specialities birders travel to Norway
to see. They are never common and are understandably extremely popular
among photographers and birders alike whenever they turn up. They can
be nomadic during the winter and turn up pretty much anywhere in
suitable habitat - though mostly in the east of the country.
The following pictures were taken during a brief encounter a bus ride
from downtown Oslo in January 2020. A 400mm hand held DLSR was used for
these - what an experience!!!
