Black Kite are something of a rarity in Norway with approximately half the number of sightings as the commoner (but still rare) Red Kite.

Black Kite are a widespread species in Europe and the rest of the world. They are often scavengers but are also adept at fishing and are often seen snatching fish from close to the surface both in freshwater and the sea.
