Ruddy
Turnstone are one of the most regualr and numerous waders at Stag Rocks
with small numbers non-breeders apparently summering there. At least
two populations may use the area - note the August peak (starts in late
July and drops off at the end of August / early September). Together
with Common Redshank this wader has one of the most stable populations
from year to year.
The record count during the period I counted waders there is 137
individuals 02 December 1986.
