At
Stag Rocks this is one of the few wader species present throughout the
year with non-breeders are present throughout the breeding season. The
time at which the majority leave indicates that Scandinavian breeders
may be invloved and it is well known that many Scandavian birds use the
east coasts of the UK both on autumn passage and in winter.
The record count during the period I counted waders there is 151 individuals on 12 December 1986.
