Common Eider are one of the commonest birds all year round at Skogsøy, the graph below includes the birds seen on the sea so much of the complicated movements this species makes are obscured. Suffice it to say that there seems to be evidence that populations from further south (the Baltic?) may pass south again during the Spring (late March). Further investigation of this phenomena is required in order to more fully document this.


The blue line shows number of visits, the orange one the number of visits when Eider have been recorded and the green one shows the average numbers I have recorded in any three day period.
