Black
guiilemot can
be seen in varying numbers throughout the year
irrespective of wind condtions; the species is least likely to be seen
in summer and early autumn.During the winter months the species is most
often seen sitting on the sea; any "movements" are likely to be local
and are somewhat unpredictable.
This species is a lot more numerous at Utsira where there is a sizeable
breeding population.
