Song Thrushes are
migrants over much of their range in northern Europe and are often seen
offshore during the migration seasons. In January 2010, during the
coldest winter for many years, I photographed this bird on the back
deck of a survey vessel halfway across the Mediterranean - obviously
fleeing the snow and ice further north.

The curious posture of this bird is because it was very nervous about
marauding Kittiwakes.
